Your Family Can Be the Weak Link in Your Business Security
Cyber security is often treated as something that stays at the office, but a recent Dark Reading piece argues that the risk reaches into the home. Those closest to executives, including family members, need to match the security posture of the leaders they live with.
The reasoning is simple: the weakest link in a family can become the entry point for an attack. If an attacker cannot easily get at a business owner or senior manager directly, a spouse, partner or relative with fewer protections may offer another route.
For small businesses, where owners and managers often blur the line between work and home life, this is a useful reminder. Security awareness training usually covers staff, but the people around your leaders may never have received any.
