Nuix Adds an AI Agent to Nuix Neo That Shows Its Work for Investigations
Nuix has launched the Nuix Neo AI Agent, a new capability for investigators, legal teams, auditors, regulators and law enforcement agencies. It lets users analyse large volumes of unstructured data by asking questions in plain language. According to Nuix, the agent can sift through documents and images, identify connections between people, accounts, communications and transactions, and reduce manual review time.
The company says transparency is central to the release. The agent links each answer back to source material and records the steps taken to reach a result, so users can review and export how findings were produced. Nuix positions this for "high-stakes investigations and compliance environments", where organisations may need to explain outcomes to courts, boards and regulators. CEO John Ruthven said the agent was built "to show its work".
Nuix also described several administrative controls. Administrators can cap spend, track usage, and set guardrails on prompts and responses. The agent draws on more than 20 tools in the platform, works across entire case inventories with role-based access controls, and integrates with the Nuix knowledge graph to generate queries automatically. The company said its framework connects a customer's chosen supported large language model to the Nuix Neo data processing layer, with outputs designed to be verified against the underlying source material.
