Cyberattack Shuts Stores and Online Services at Russian Retailer Poryadok for Five Days
Russian home goods retailer Poryadok has faced five consecutive days of disruption after a cyberattack. The company operates 48 stores across 32 cities. It first reported technical problems on Sunday, saying its website, mobile app and physical stores were unavailable. It later confirmed a cyberattack was the cause, but did not say how attackers got in or when normal operations would resume.
The impact on customers was immediate. Some stores, including in Voronezh where the company was founded in 2010, remained closed with notices citing technical problems. Customers reported being unable to collect orders they had already paid for, arrange returns, access loyalty bonuses or reach the customer service hotline. One customer in Kursk could not extend a pickup deadline because both the website and stores were inaccessible. The company said it is working to restore services but gave no timeline. It remains unclear who carried out the attack or whether any customer data was compromised.
The incident follows other reported attacks on Russian businesses in recent months. Dodo Pizza suffered a breach in September, claimed by a group calling itself DataSuckers. In mid-October, online travel agency Anywayanyday temporarily suspended bookings after an attack disrupted its IT systems.
