ASI Solutions buys Insicon Cyber to bring local managed security to more Australian and NZ organisations

Key Takeaway If you lack in-house security staff, consider whether a trusted local provider offering 24/7 monitoring and compliance support could help you manage cyber risk.

ASI Solutions has acquired Insicon Cyber, an Australian-owned cyber security specialist with a localised sovereign security operations centre (SOC) in North Sydney. ASI said the deal adds board advisory, managed security and compliance services to its customer base across Australia and New Zealand, including education, government and commercial organisations.

Insicon Cyber offers board and executive advisory, a 24/7 SOC with managed SIEM, and support for compliance and certification. These cover standards such as ISO 27001, ISO 9001 and ISO 42001, alongside ASD, APRA and NZISM requirements. Founded in 2013, the company says its SOC is ISO 27001 certified and it is an Australian Signals Directorate Network Partner. It will keep operating under its own name as an ASI Solutions company, led by co-founders Matt Miller and Greg Bunt. The purchase follows ASI's acquisition of JTC Technology earlier this year, its sixth.

The deal comes as more organisations turn to external providers for security operations, amid workforce constraints and rising cybercrime impacts. The ASD's Annual Cyber Threat Report 2025-26 found the average self-reported cost of cybercrime for medium-sized Australian businesses rose 45% to $141,300 per report.
